Review

Rob Parrett's debut album 'When the Waters...' showcased a highly dexterous guitarist. 'Jacara' builds on this adding some subtle world beat and jazz influences. The result is music that not only attains his particular giftedness but opens a whole new area of his creativity. Other tracks see him pursuing a series of sound pictures notably 'Jacara' and the crazed 'Freak-out in Toyland'. 'If the Angels Die' sees him in ambient territory. Pride of place is the epic 'Child Games', 12 mins 42 seconds of slowly building themes where he circumnavigates the fret board with his customary taste.
