Making the Most of Your Music
If you have written a song, instrumental or have a basic idea you would like to expand on, whether it be for a partner, a special occasion or just for personal gratification, this is the ideal experience for you to enjoy, be creative and be experimental. As in all our experiences we will try and cover a wide selection of relevant genres for your needs and examine basic arrangements and production techniques and encourage group participation in order to get the most from your compositions.
Miking Techniques
How to achieve the best sound from acoustic and electric instruments either within the limitations of your own home, in the studio or in a live situation.
We will cover such areas as mike selection and placement for instruments and microphone techniques for vocalists. Tips and tricks. Problem solving for room acoustics in the recording and live environment. Again we will concentrate on the areas of the participants personal preferences in keeping with Cool Fossil Music’s policy of group and individual satisfaction.
Music for Film & Television
How to enhance your own movies musically or to discover the requirements , techniques and jargon involved in the composition of music for movies. You can then create a musical piece to cover an area of your choice whether it be for an imaginary film or your own DVD. We will explain and explore the musical references of Theme music, Underlays and beds, Sound Design, World fusion and Incidental music.
At the end of the experience we hope you will be inspired by your own creativity.
Computer based recording
Ways to use sequencers and software for creative composition. Techniques and tips on arranging, production and mastering. Experiment with sound modules, audio and digital recording and ways of achieving the illusive perfect ‘mix’...
